Electric Sheep

Electric Sheep is a distributed computing project to create, download and view movies in a fractal screensaver. The project was founded by Scott Draves.

Videos recorded are publicly available under Creative Commons. The project participants have the opportunity to vote for the movies they prefer to remain in circulation longer, also the parameters used for the best "dreams" will be changed with a genetic algorithm to generate new ones.

It's run by thousands of people all over the world, and can be installed on any ordinary PC, Mac, Android, or iPad. When these computers "sleep", the Electric Sheep comes on and the computers communicate with each other by the internet to share the work of creating morphing abstract animations known as "sheep".
